There’s nothing worse than having nausea (or vomiting) after an operation. It’s enough to make someone avoid a much needed procedure at a bundled payments surgical center. Nausea or vomiting after surgery is miserable. Not only do you have to deal with the discomfort and limitations of the operation and recovery, but you also have to deal with the nausea on top of it!
At Nadora Healthcare, we take nausea after surgery seriously. It’s very important that you notify our nursing staff and anesthesiologist prior to undergoing the procedure that you are someone who is prone to having nausea after surgery or that you’re very concerned about having nausea after surgery (even if you’ve never had it before). When we’re notified of this issue, our staff purposefully takes measures to minimize the risk of nausea after surgery. Some examples of this are: administering preoperative steroids, applying a meclizine patch behind your ear, administering compazine medication prior to surgery, using certain anesthetics that are less likely to cause nausea after surgery, and prescribing special IV and oral medications after surgery that are likely to ward off nausea at its earliest onset. Finally, our post operative nurses have been trained to watch out for nausea after surgery and to treat it very seriously. They will take steps to administer medications, get you out of bed and walking, or notify your physician that additional care is needed right away to treat nausea after surgery. At Nadora Healthcare, We know that avoiding nausea after surgery will get you on the road to recovery and rehabilitation faster. This will ultimately lead to a better surgical outcome at our bundled payments surgical center and get you back to your family and your normal routine as quickly as possible.
We look forward to partnering with you and getting you the care that you need.
